OCARA MINE
Located in the state of Ceará, just 100 km from the main ports of the region, Fortaleza and Pecém, the Ocara mine has a very competitive logistics to attend the international market.
The largest Manganese mine in the Borborema Province, has an innovative profile in the mineral segment, trading in Manganese ore in different sizes (Lump and Powder). It currently has a production and export capacity of 12,000 tons per month in a variety of sizes, which ranks it among the largest manganese mines in Brazil.
With average contents of 30% Mn and 0.08% P, the ore produced has very low moisture, since the mine is in the semi-arid region of the Brazilian northeast, where there is a low rainfall rate. Its work has frequent monitoring of the quality management system that ensures compliance with regular or “spot” supply contracts.
The mine is operated by the Libra Ligas do Brasil S/A company, which operates in the Ferroalloys segment, producing Ferro Silicon and Inoculants, commercializing in the international market for over 20 years. The mine has started operations in 2016 and signed an exclusive contract to the commercialize of ore with Atlantic Alloys.
